Erste Bank To Close 43 Branches In Hungary
"Erste Bank announced its plans to close 43 of its 184 branches in Hungary on Friday evening, meaning that it will dismiss 400-450 employees, or 15% of the payroll. The crisis has reduced revenues, loan extensions have been cut back, an excessive bank tax was levied and the foreign-currecy mortgage early repayment scheme is also causing losses, Erste explained, adding that it will close the 43 branches after the mortgage programme ends. more »
