Nikola Parov', Festival Theatre, 4 March
"Riverdance and Legend of the Sun are just two success stories associated with Nikola Parov. He played in the Riverdance Orchestra and wrote music for the Legend dance production. In the 80s, Parov founded popular formations, including Zsarátnok and Barbaro and this made him one of the focal figures of Hungarian ethno-rock.

He later played with jazz guitarist Gábor Gadó. Born in Bulgaria, he grew up with Balkan folk melodies but moved to Budapest when he was ten, where he completed his comprehensive education in folk music. Additionally he has delved deep into Celtic and Irish folk music and for five years, toured with the Riverdance production.

He then worked with Márta Sebestyén and Ágnes Herczku, who figures on Parov’s latest CD along with his quartet.
