'Gypsy Queens & Kings', National Concert Hall, 9 April
"The fifteen members of the Oláh Gypsy Allstars – singers, musicians, dancers – preserve and present the music of the Oláh Gypsies on traditional and modern instruments. The Gypsy Queens and Kings project has enchanted the world for the last three years: their London concert in 2007 was described as the concert of the year.

The formation comprises Macedonian, Romanian, Bulgarian and French musicians and groups. In the new line up, the resident band is the Romanian Mahala Rai Banda.

One of the star guests is 66 year old Macedonian singer Esma Redzepova who became a celebrated musician at age 13 and who has twice been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Indira Gandhi crowned her as queen of the gypsies. Besides Romanian and Balkan musicians, the Kaloome group contribute Mediterranean Gypsy and North African folk music.

Tickets: 1700, 3100, 4800, 5900 Ft"
