Hungary Orbán Names Three Top Officials In New Government
"Viktor Orbán, Hungary’s incoming Prime Minister has named three members of his new government on Thursday. The Prime Minister’s Office will be abolished to be replaced by a body for the Prime Minister ("Miniszterelnökség" instead of "Miniszterelnöki Hivatal"), the political centre of the cabinet, he added.

The head of the new PM’s Office will be Mihály Varga, as Secretary of State.

Varga said "bureaucracy will be a lot smaller than the current one around the PM’s Office."

Fidesz spokesman Péter Szijjártó will be appointed spokesman for the PM, Orbán told a press conference. His duty will be "to manage the PM's relation with the public," he added.

The new government spokesman will be appointed by Tibor Navracsics, who will be given the post of Minister for Public Affairs and Justice. Orbán said he will also submit a bill to appoint Navracsics Deputy Prime Minister.

Orbán stressed "there will be no top ministries, only ministries". The only exception in this sense will be the ministry headed by Navracsics, as his task will be to co-ordinate the tasks of the other ministries.

The PM-designate also revealed that György Szapáry, former Deputy Governor of the central bank (NBH) and currently responsible for international relations in Fidesz, will help the cabinet's work as chief advisor.

Orbán has disclosed earlier that his foreign minister-designate is János Martonyi, who held the same position in the previous Fidesz government.

Martonyi said earlier this month that the Fidesz government will seek a new financing deal or an extension to the existing agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union.

"Well, I think we have to sit down as soon as possible (with the IMF and the EU)," Martonyi told Reuters in an interview."
