Hommage à Ligeti, National Concert Hall, 27 May
"The UMZE Chamber Ensemble was formed following an initiative by Zoltán Rácz in 1996 as an flexible formation able to perform 20th and 21st century music and retain it on concert programmes and to educate audiences about the latest works by Hungarian and international contemporary composers.

Bartók, Kodály and Weiner made a similar attempt in 1911 but that came to nothing. In 2006, UMZE organized the first Hommage a Ligeti to celebrate the famous composer’s birthday and to start a tradition.

Although Ligeti died in 2006, the goal over the past four years has been to play all of Ligeti’s works.

Prices: 1100, 1600, 2400, 3800 Ft"
