'Keren Hanan Charity Concert', French Institute, 5 July
"Ari S Kupsus Salon Concert Society presents a piano recital together with pianists Jerome Bloch and Keren Hanan. This charity concert is for victims of the recent floods in Hungary and it is going to take palce on July 5th, 2010 at 8 pm at the French Institute - Fő utca 17, 1011 Budapest.

This recital is presented as Mr. Bloch's musical farewell concert in Budapest since in September he continues his diplomatic service in Morocco.

The programme includes works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Schubert.

Admission free, however, donation of minimum 3.000 HUF is suggested for audiences.
All proceeds will go to flood victims through Red Cross Hungary

Keren Hanan - Artist

Greek-Israeli pianist Keren Hanan began her piano studies at the age of 8 with Hanna Shalgi and Pnina Salzman.

As a youth, Keren won several national competitions, including the Clairmont Award. Since 1988, she has been the recipient of numerous American-Israel Foundation scholarships.

Keren continued her studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston with Wha Kyung Byun, in Tel Aviv with Prof. Arie Vardi, and in Italy with Franco Scala and Antonio Ballista.

She currently lives in Budapest, working with Ferenc Rados

Keren has given recitals throughout the world, including in New York, Boston, Rome, London, Budapest, Vietnam and China. She appeared as a soloist with youth orchestras in Israel and Europe, and, at the age of 15 performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In the last few years, she has played with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra in New York, the Belgrade Philharmonic and with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In May of 2007, Keren played with the Dohnanyi Orchestra in special event for the State of Israel at the Palace of Arts in Budapest. Also in 2008, she played and conducted a string orchestra in Budapest.

As a Chamber musician she has taken part in the Sunday Chamber Music Series of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the New Chamber Music Series of the Israel Philharmonic, and the Pharos Festival in Cyprus where she collaborated with cellist Steven Isserlis.

Keren is also a painter, Her renowned work has reached private collections in New York, London and Budapest.
