Ghymes Festival On The Szent György-Hill, Tapolca, 2 - 4 July
"Tapolca and Hegymagas, where the festival takes place, are popular inland targets at Lake Balaton, at Badacsony vineyards. The series of these cultural events give an excellent opportunity for long and short holiday-makers seeking for entertainment.

The Ghymes band carries out a tradition former all-art festival from the 2nd to the 4th July that is based on the permanent products of contemporary music, theatre and literature life.

The Szarka-brothers had dreamt this three-day festival a long time ago, and managed to turn it into reality at the shade of the hills of late Pannon-sea (Szent György-hill, Badacsony, Szigliget).

„This Fesival is the soul of our band. The creative community of Ghymes is more than an ordinary band: a separate world, in which the theatre, music, literature and history creates a living integrate together. This more than one day event is the perfect medium for us to express ourselfs and to make a direct contact with the audience. It is not accidental that the Ghymes band was founded at a festival many years ago...“ – said Gyula Szarka. Beside several world famous plays, musical fable plays, concerts, other performances there will also be a Ghymes concert and a special poetry night comprehending a life-work of Tamas Szarka, who is one of the leaders of Ghymes.

The Ghymes Festival (2-3-4th July) is the best occasion to celabrate and enjoy together the general Hungarian and Europian cultural heritage during our summer holiday relaxation, vine tasting or as a part of a few day long Balaton trip. Beside many exciting performances there will be a fair, craftsman activities, wine tasting of products of Szent György-hill, and the inevitable traditional Hungarian dishes.
