Hungarian Népszabadság Hopeful Of A Turnaround
"Népszabadság recorded a Ft 1 billion loss last year, but could generate a profit in the fourth quarter of this year, recently appointed chairman and CEO Attila Mihók told Napi Gazdaság in an interview.

The joint leadership of publisher Ringier and Népszabadság will pay off by utilising synergies and sharing information, he said.

He remarked that the crisis sped up developments at Népszabadság, but high paper prices and the weak forint did not help.

The advertising market may grow in the fourth quarter and the publisher is making the final adjustments before launching new products, said Mihók, adding that the design of the flagship newspaper will be updated and more weight will be put on content generation.

A new marketing strategy will manage the different products, supplements, book and CD series and the online version as a whole. The sale of Népszabadság is not on the agenda, Mihók added."
