Hungarian Haulers Agree To Buy Fuel At Home
"SMEs haulers association MKFE has reached a new agreement with MOL on a Ft 10 per litre discount on fuel at six filling stations for members MKFE chairman Zoltán Vereczkey announced yesterday.

MKFE will provide over Ft 2 billion in additional budget revenues as members will no longer fill their tanks abroad, he said. MOL already provides an Ft 8 discount at the remaining filling stations, based on an agreement signed in April 2008.

Members will probably buy 60-65 million litres of fuel annually instead of the earlier 48-50 million.

MKFE suggests that the government reduce the tax on diesel by Ft 8, arguing that this would also increase budget revenues, as transiting trucks will fill their tanks in Hungary."
