Gellért Hill Stone Temple In Budapest Opens Visitor Centre
"The purpose of the new visitor centre is to familiarize everyone with the stone temple. In the interest of this aspiration, three tasks must be performed and first of all, tourists have to be informed as efficiently as possible. For this reason portable audio-guides about the temple are available in 7 languages. Screens and projection surfaces also showcase films about the Order of St. Paul and the stone temple itself.

The second task is deepening religious life at the temple. The visitor centre helps in this respect, as during religious services tourists can access the visitor centre and will thus not disturb the services.

The third goal is “for the temple to become a spiritual centre once again”. The trial period had a god reception from the tourists. The investment amounted to HUF 58 million, of which the Order of St. Paul had to provide a 15% contribution, and the remaining sum was secured by the government and a winning EU tender."
