Hungary's Music Sziget Set to Expand
"Music festival organiser Sziget has already found a location and local partners for a festival on the Croatian coast at the end of July next year, CEO Károly Gerendai has revealed.

The event will target higher-income people, as the Balaton Sound festival does, and will make cabins available, not only camping sites. It will be held at Rovinj, on the Istrian peninsula, according to Világgazdaság.

Gerendai said Sziget management is divided over whether to repeat the Stargarden event next year, as only one-third of the expected number of guests bought tickets for the Budapest event in June.

The recently closed flagship Sziget Festival event made Ft 50-100 million in profit, while the Volt festival in Sopron and Balaton Sound also made money.

The Sziget hosted 382,000 guests this year, down from 390,000 last year. This year’s budget was Ft 2.7 billion."
