Fuel Prices Hit Record Highs In Hungary
"Retail fuel prices hit an all-time high last week after MOL announced that it would raise petrol prices by Ft 8 per litre and those of diesel by Ft 6. The average price of a litre of unleaded 95-octane petrol is around Ft 354, while the price of diesel topped Ft 340 per litre. These prices stood at Ft 298 and Ft 276, respectively, one year ago.

MOL cited rising crude oil prices and the stronger dollar for the increase.

The price hike gives Hungary the highest petrol prices in the region. A litre of petrol costs Ft 20 more than in Austria and Ft 150 more than in Ukraine, Magyar Hirlap writes. At these levels, more drivers living close to Romania and Ukraine are expected to tank up across the border, the newspaper adds. "
