New TV Crime Reporting Restricted In Hungary

The restrictions would apply to newscasts aired by RTL Klub and TV2 during 7-8:30 a.m., and 6-9 p.m. They would also extend to news broadcasts on Neo FM and Class FM during 6.30-8.30 a.m.
Under another change, at least 35% of music aired on radio stations must be Hungarian.
MPs also voted to increase advertising on state-run media from six minutes to eight minutes every hour.
Parliament amended the bill on media services to give media outlets the right to challenge fines issued by the new media authority in court, rather than having to pay the fines immediately.
There were 298 affirmative votes in favour of the bill, 56 dissensions and one abstention."
