Budapest Transport Company BKV Outsources Bus Lines
"VT-Transman will operate more than two dozen bus lines in Budapest, having won a public procurement tender called by the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) and public transport company BKV. The company, owned by electronics manufacturer Videoton, was judged to have submitted the only valid bid, after that of rival Orangeways was disqualified.

CEO Miklós Kovács told Napi Gazdaság that Orangeways submitted a better price than VT-Transman and will challenge the decision.

The call for bids stipulates that the winner is to provide services with 25 buses less than eight years old for a two-year period, with the option to extend the contract by one year.

Details of the agreement and the costs of outsourcing the lines were not disclosed."
