Wizz Air To Start Flying From Debrecen In Hungary This Month
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, will begin services from Debrecen Airport (DEB) as of 18 June 2012. The airline will initially offer three weekly flights, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from Debrecen to London Luton Airport (LTN), offering convenient access to the London city center and other regions in Central England.

To celebrate their extension of operations to Debrecen, Wizz Air tickets to London are said to be available from as low as HUF 9,990 (one way) on wizzair.com or by calling 06 90 181 181.

Wizz Air says it is confident the new service will contribute significantly to the tourism of Eastern Hungarian and be an important driver for economic growth in the region. We expect to carry close to 50,000 passengers in our first year. This expansion demonstrates Wizz Air’s commitment to the Hungarian market and comes less than one week after the airline announced that it will double capacity out of Budapest.

“Wizz Air is bringing the excitement of air travel at affordable prices directly to Debrecen. Instead of driving several hours to the capital, those living in Eastern Hungary can now fly from Debrecen and access London for a great value. Wizz Air is committed to the region and envisages offering more destinations from Debrecen in the future”, said József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
