Invitation: Budapest Beer Festival, Until 2 Sept
This year the Hungarian beer fest has a lot more to offer than ever before. It will be open for a day longer, will be in a larger space in the Buda Castle, will present nearly 200 different local and international beers, and will offer many specialty beer types. Another novelty of this year is a taster mug (0,2 L), designed for drinkers who would like to taste many beers without getting too merry too soon. Read on for full details inc. prices, and to see a video.

The feast of beers returns with a wider selection of the finest beers than last year. The largest domestic beer manufacturers will be represented, and twice as many small local breweries will present their rarities. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste imported beer brands, amongst them Bohemian, German, English, Belgian and Irish specialties.

Obviously nothing can be more important than beer at the Beer Festival, however 40 concerts and 120 well-known foreign and Hungarian performers will also contribute to the fun feeling of the Festival.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the concerts of Republic, Ganxta Zolee és a Kartel, Keresztes Ildikó, Nagy Feró, Firkin, Joe Cocker Cover Band and Paddy & The Rats.

In addition to the concerts popular stand-up comedians – amongst them Péter Aranyosi, the “beer ambassador” of the Festival - will also entertain audiences.

Visitors can taste beer from a unique beer mug (0,4 L, cost 600 HUF) which they can decide to keep or to return after the tasting. The unitary price of a pint of beer (depending on the brand) will be: 400 HUF, 500 HUF, or 900 HUF.

The magnificent Buda Castle will host the festival, where events will take place at three locations: Hunyadi square and Oroszlános square, and from this year Savoy terrace as well.
