The 29th International Summer Camp For Disabled Youth Opens In Balatonföldvár, Hungary
The week-long 29th International Summer Camp for Disabled Youth opened in Balatonföldvár on Sunday. Its aim is to help dismantle invisible walls between those living with disability and the rest of society.

At the opening ceremony Pál Szekeres, Deputy State Secretary for Sports within the Ministry of Human Resources (and a three-time Paralympic fencing champion), told participants that they should forget their disabilities and should believe in themselves and in God.

The event has gathered together 170 disabled young people from 22 countries.

A total of around 13 000 young people have attended the event over the course of its history. Every year the international camp is organised in a different location, and so far Hungary has hosted the event three times.

This year the Hungarian government contributed ten million forints towards the organisation of the international camp.
