Optimism Scarce In Construction Sector In Hungary
Economics institute GKI's gauge of sentiment in the construction industry remained unchanged in September, but outlooks remain dim, as expectations for new orders remain low, Napi Gazdasag reports. In the latest survey 10% of companies expect higher output, whereas 41% foresaw declines. These respective figures for August were 12% and 42%.

The outlook for new orders fell further, as only 6% of respondents said they had high levels of new orders, compared with 66% who said they face lower volumes.

One-third of construction companies plan job cuts and only 5% expect to add staff, according to the survey.

Disinflationary trends will continue as 25% of construction companies brace for lower production prices, with only a small minority, 3%, expecting prices to rise.
