Hungarian Journalist Kidnapped And Freed In Syria
Unidentified gunmen kidnapped and then released Hungarian reporter Bálint Szlankó along with a Mexican and a Basque journalist in Aleppo, Syria on Tuesday. Szlankó, a freelance journalist, wrote on his Facebook page that the reporters were taken to a place near the battle lines in the eastern part of Aleppo.

After they were handcuffed, their valuables were taken and they had to spend the remainder of the day in a cell.

The three were later released in an abandoned part of the town where they managed to reach an armed opposition group.

Szlankó and his two companions safely reached Turkey. He expressed thanks to his colleagues and family as well as the Hungarian and Spanish governments for their assistance.
