More New Cars Sold In Hungary Last Year
New car sales were up 55%, year-on-year in December, as 5,091 new vehicles hit the roads in Hungary, market researcher Jato Dynamics announced. Sales rose 18% in 2012, when 53,431 new cars were sold.

There was a 38% drop in sales of small business vehicles in December and a 6% decrease in 2012.

In all, 10,877 new small business vehicles were sold in 2012.

Overall, 80% of new car purchases were made by companies and 20% by individuals.

Opel was the leading brand with a 12% market share.

Police forces purchased nearly 2,000 Opel Astra and Fabia models in December, helping Opel to top the sales list with 7,816 cars sold.

Among models, Opel Astra led with 4,483 sales followed by Skoda Octavia at 2,866 and Ford Focus at 2,090.
