Xpat Opinion: I Love Going To See Modern Dance In Budapest
Love'n'go in Budapest last night was dance to remember, in a run-down former art cinema, the setting for this provocative performance, set-up by an intro speech (comical shout, due to the lack of a mic) by director Eva. The show started by intriguing and engaging us, the audience became the dancers, and before we knew it many guests were laughing out loud, then almost crying, and were finally left feeling moved and inspired. The blaring soundtrack blended numbers from Star Wars and Bond movies, hip lounge tracks, emotional classical music, plus an acoustic Britney Spears tune sang by a man. Oh how we all clapped at the end, great entertainment, I'd love to go again... For now here below is a video clip of Éva Duda's earlier work, Stop'n Go...

"Inspired by the recently revived and reopened Átrium Movie-Theater and the old stories about it, 'LOVE’n Go' is the latest piece of the company’s action-performance series. Previous episodes of the series mostly explored current issues and presented them cynically or full of protest, with naivety or wit, using different improvisation styles.

Centered around the charm of love, our latest performance is based on the joyful and sad memories of Átrium’s past audience, visitors, staff members and even passersby.

The contributing creative artists stage some of these stories to make the evening all about reviving the past. Join us for LOVE’n Go, a show that blends reality with fiction."
