Invitation: Battery Dance Company, Átrium Theater Budapest, 26 March
The New York based Battery Dance Company is once again coming to Hungary. The U.S. State Department a proud sponsor of their European tour, including the performances next week in Budapest and in Győr.

In Budapest, they will perform at the Átrium Theater at 20:00 on Tuesday, March 26

In Győr, the performance will be staged at the Győr National Theater on Thursday, March 28

Battery Dance Company, an anchor in the cultural life of Manhattan for 37 years, has graced main stages and festivals in nearly 60 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, North America and Australia. In its two previous engagements in Hungary, the Company performed at the National Dance Theatre, MU Theater and Pecs Summer Festival, presenting works by its founder and artistic director Jonathan Hollander.

Battery Dance Company has also presented Hungarian choreographer Gerzson Kovacs on its stage in New York City. Its performance at the Atrium will feature the artistry of BDC’s second generation of choreographers who have won acclaim in the New York Times and international press for their brave and innovative creations. For its return to Hungary, the Company has selected 5 self-contained segments from their most recent productions, AUTOBIOGRAPHICA and Perceptual Motion.

Especially commissioned music by New York-based composers Polarity/1, Mike Incze and Farai Malianga accompany four of the five segments. Mira Bai Cook has created the musical score for her segment. Battery Dance Company’s tour of Hungary includes performances in Budapest and Györ and is part of a European Tour of six countries sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
