48 years in the casual dining sector. T.G.I. Friday's celebrated its Birthday in the 15th of March. The first striped restaurant was opened by Alan Stillman, a perfume salesman, to meet the single “stewardesses” who lived in his neighborhood. According to legend, he came up with the name “T.G.I. Friday’s he was skiing with a friend in the Catskills when he wiped out. Out of frustration, he supposedly said to his friend: "Thank Goodness it's Friday!" At that point, his restaurant did not have a name, and his friend suggested he call it that!

How come the stripes? the first “stripes” uniform shirts were purchased from a soccer supply store, and after few months became the recognizable symbol of the restaurant.



For the exciting atmosphere, Alan Stillman would hire out-of-work actors and macho men who liked to have fun to work at Friday’s because he felt they had great personalities. At the time in New York, most other restaurants had “stuffy” waiters.
The first T.G.I. Friday's opened in Hungary 14 years ago and now you can find 3 exciting restaurants in the heart of Budapest . In the Menu can be found all the famous and traditional appetizers huge American burgers, original Jack Daniel's Grill, mouthwatering steaks and ribs.
