Introducing Wndrlnd (Wanderland) In Budapest

  • 26 Apr 2013 9:00 AM
Imagine a place you never recognize whenever you return to it. It is guaranteed to be the case with WNDRLND, which brings the idea of an ever-reshaping creative Pop-Up bar to a new level in Budapest. Adjacent to Holdudvar on Margitsziget WNDRLND mixes the coolness of the inner city ruin pubs, the visual richness of Budapest’s galleries and the atmosphere of the urban clubs offering exciting musical adventures. What’s more, every week a different designer, graphic designer or artist takes over the interior of the place.

WNDRLND is a creative island, which offers space for young, and talented artists and those budapesters who wish to get away from it all, just have a party and who are fed up with the uniformity of designbars. WNDRLND does not follow one single current visual trend but the artists who play an important part of the Hungarian visual culture reform its look from week to week.

Apart from the visuals the programs also fall prey to creativity: the artists who take over the bar for 20 weeks influence the programs, the music and even the weekly specials on the menu making WNDRLND a place that gives the artists a real sense of community and provides the visitors with a true cultural adventure each week.

Grand Opening: Friday, 26  April 21.00

The creative or hedonistic (you decide) grand opening will put WNDRLND on the cultural map of Budapest with the visual shock along with the music ranging from dirty disco through nu electro to poptrash.

WNDRLND has asked every artist to create their flyer designs for the opening party in their own style, which have been uploaded to an album titled WNDRLND Stílusgyakorlatok (Style practices) on the Facebook page of the place.

If you want the design you find visually the most enticing to be printed eventually give it your like.
