Mayor’s Daughter Assaulted In Pécs, Hungary
The 20-year-old daughter of Pécs’s Fidesz mayor Zsolt Páva was brutally assaulted at 4 a.m. Friday morning, as the assailant at-tempted to rape her. The woman, who was returning home from a university party, was seriously injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.

She sustained facial and nasal fractures, and had bruises on her body.

As closed-circuit cameras had recorded the attack, police issued a warrant for the ar-rest of 23-year-old Zoltán Nyerges, as well as a description and a photograph of him.

Nyerges, who was raised in a state or-phanage, was convicted of raping a girl in Komló at the age of 17, for which he served five years in prison.

Police are assisted in their work by the Baranya Roma authority, which stated it ac-cepts no solidarity with the fleeing criminal.

The Roma authority offered a Ft 100,000 reward to anybody who provides clues.
