Xpat Opinion: Bosch In Budapest
The Hungarian R&D center of Robert Bosch GmbH just began the second phase of its 60-million-euro construction project in District 10, Budapest. The district, connecting the city center with the airport, is home to a number of pharmaceutical firms, as well as large brown field development areas. The 40-million-euro first phase began a year and a half ago on the 50,000 m2 plot, and will make it possible for a further 350 employees to move there this summer from the current District 14 location. Altogether Bosch employs 850 engineers in Hungary.

Roughly 8% of the construction costs were subsidized by the government in the form of a grant, expressing appreciation for the fact that skilled Hungarian engineers do not have to leave the country to gain world class experience.
