British Embassy Donations To Hungarian Roma Organisation
On Monday 17 June Deputy Head of Mission Theresa Bubbear delivered donations to the Beginning to End Roma organisation.

Beside the large number of recently replaced pieces of embassy used furniture Ms Bubbear also handed over bags of clothes, books and toys to the chairman of the organisation.

The Beginning to End Foundation was founded four years ago with the aim of providing support to poorly educated, unemployed and alcohol addict people – mainly Roma. In the short time of their existence they managed to launch a number of successful projects and help over 150 people.

The British Embassy in Budapest actively looks for opportunities to help those in need. On 10 December in 2012, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, members of the embassy collected donations for two organisations helping poor Roma families. A few days before Christmas British Ambassador Jonathan Knott, together with embassy staff, joined Hungarian Interchurch Aid at their homeless soup kitchen while in February 2013 the embassy organised a charity baking event for the Wesley homeless kindergarten.
