No Heritage Train Services In Budapest In Summer 2013
In the summer of 2013 heritage train services are not scheduled at the Children's Railway for a two-month period from mid June. After Sunday, 16th June, not regarding the services in the evening of Saturday, 22nd June on the occasion of the Long Night of Museums, steam engine services and heritage railcar services are scheduled to resume only on Saturday, 17th August.

Steam engine services used to be cancelled almost all summer in recent years due to fire bans. Scheduled and then cancelled train services caused a lot of disappointment to passengers. That is why steam engine services are not even scheduled from the middle of June to the middle of August this year.

Heritage railcar services used to be operated on Sundays in summer in the past. However passenger behaviour has significantly changed recently. Instead of the summer, passenger numbers are higher in the spring and autumn months. So the heritage railcar set is operated at spring and autumn weekends instead of summer Sundays. Usually it runs in relief services.

The timetable of regular passenger services is not effected during the July to August period. At weekends departures are scheduled for every 45 minutes on average at both terminuses.
