NGOs Oppose Development At Normafa In Budapest
Greenpeace, Védegylet and the World Wildlife Fund are among six environmental organisations objecting to plans for a ski and leisure centre in a protected area on Normafa in Budapest’s 12th District.

The ski slopes and snow cannons will be surrounded by a built-up area, not by forests, as in Austria, so the local nature will not have a chance to regenerate itself, the NGOs argue.

In addition, they say construction will violate Hungarian and EU regulations.

They suggest that the government invest the available funds in existing ski centres in Hungary.
