Gazprom To Sell Gas Cheaper In Hungary
E.ON Földgáz Trade, shortly just before it was taken over by state-owned MVM, agreed with Russia’s Gazprom to change the gas price formula, making imports of Russian gas to Hungary 20% cheaper from the fourth quarter, Világgazdaság reports, citing market sources.

The agreement was a precondition set by MVM for the purchase of the E.ON subsidiary. In the deal that closed on the last day of September, MVM paid Ft 260 billion for E.ON Földgáz Trade and E.ON Földgáz Storage.

Industry experts say the move will give state gas trader Magyar Gázkeresked room to further reduce energy prices.
