No Tenders Needed For Casino Licences In Hungary
Parliament passed an amendment motion Monday evening under which casino licences can be awarded without a tendering process. The bill states that the economy minister may sign contracts with reliable gambling organisers to operate up to five casinos without tendering, if they pay a higher than usual fee.

Gambling organisers may deduct the fee from their taxes.

Socialist MP Csaba Tóth recalled that the cabinet terminated the slot machine market from one day to the next last autumn by referring to national security risks. “Now you are re-opening it. For yourself”.
