Xpat Opinion: Rediscovering Hungary As A Gem For Tourists
Have you noticed all the coverage lately of Hungary as a tourist destination? From Hungarian cuisine to culture, we’ve seen more and more pieces recently lauding the charms our country has to offer visitors.

One of the origins of this coverage is the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller that ran a very attractive piece on Budapest by Hannah Gregory, highlighting how the city is abuzz with “new design talent and offbeat, artsy places” and putting the Hungarian capital back on the map of cool places for visitors. Soon after that, Condé Nast readers elected Budapest the second best city in the world to visit, tied with Florence, Italy (!) and just behind San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

CNN has also run a number of pieces recently. For anyone interested, Robin Marshall’s entertaining article, offers a good orientation to the country to get started. If you are interested in Hungarian cuisine, Mary Novakovich has a great guide for you. If you are more of a nature fan, The Mirror’s Anne-Maria Senior takes you to the country’s most beautiful and best-kept secret. And the list goes on.

The statistics show world travelers’ curiosity for Hungary has increased. Significantly. And that’s likely to grow in 2014. We are happy to see that Hungary is being re-discovered as an outstanding tourist destination. Welcome!
