Hungarian Pharmaceutical Company Richter Acquires Brazilian Distributor
Richter has entered the South American market by purchasing a 51% stake in Brazilian pharmaceutical distributor Next Pharma, the Hungarian drugmaker announced yesterday.

The subsidiary will register and distribute Richter’s female healthcare product Esyma in Brazil. Richter bought Esyma’s Latin American licence in the summer from Laboratorie HRA Pharma.

The acquisition cost less than $500,000 and Richer has an option to purchase the remaining 49% stake, said spokeswoman Zsuzsa Beke.
