Hungary's PM’s Office Leader Lázár Praises Agreement With Russia
The cabinet will discuss the agreement with Russia on expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant next week, and it could be submitted to Parliament the following week, Prime Minister’s Office leader János Lázár told reporters on Thursday.

Describing the agreement as the best business deal of the past 40 years, he emphasised that the €9-10 billion loan from Russia will be extended at below market rates, and said the expansion will enhance Hungary’s energy independence.

Lázár also said the EU has raised no objections to the Russian-Hungarian agreement, modifying his Tuesday claim that preliminary approval had already been granted.
