Few Women Expected In New Parliament In Hungary
Based on current polling figures, female lawmakers are expected to hold 20 seats in Hungary’s new, downsized parliament, or 10% of all seats, political research firm Policy Solutions said. This rate would be about the same as the proportion of seats held by women in parliament now, the researcher said in a report based on data gathered in February.

Based on the latest polls, the 199-member new parliament would have 20 women lawmakers, which number would put Hungary in the lowest ranks among democratic countries for the number of women in parliament, it added.

Policy Solutions projected that the Fidesz-Christian Democrats would send 9-10, the opposition Unity alliance 8-9 and radical nationalist Jobbik 2 women deputies to the new parliament in April.
