Hungary’s Fidesz To Have “Strong Mandate ” In EP
The Fidesz-Christian Democrats will have a strong mandate in Brussels in the next cycle, the alliance’s list-leader Ildikó Gáll Pelcz said, after her party won Sunday’s European elections. Pelcz said the turnout in Hungary had been good in a regional comparison and considering that the general election had been held just a month ago.

“We can be satisfied”, she said, adding that the results show that their work was being met with strong support. Pelcz said the EU is in the phase of finding its way and Hungary must take a strong role in this.

Hungary must work hard for the renewal of the EU so that no diktats are put in the country’s way, she said. “It is our mutual interest that the EU should increase its competitiveness and ability to take action,” she said.

“It is also important that there should be no double standards,” she added.
