See What Happened @ May Day Celebrations In Budapest
The 1st of May usually signals a day off work, celebrations and dancing round the Maypole. It is historically and technically correct, though this is not quite the same if you are spending it by the banks of the Danube in Budapest.

As the sun beamed through the skies over Erzsebet Bridge, the castle district and the Parliament, a spectacular air show burst through the capital, later to be followed by the Formula 1 road show.

A world champion aerobatics pilot got things rolling, then we were treated to an air show with two, then four aircrafts. Flying Bulls with B25, P38 and F4U aircrafts, Flying Bulls Bell Cobra helicopters, Tamás Illés world champion aerobatics pilot with an EDGE 540T aircraft, a WizzAir A 320 commercial jet, Lajos Imre with a MI-2 helicopter and many more.

After the visual feast, the afternoon’s entertainment took us back to ground level with Red Bull’s Racing Formula1 show featuring David Coultard
and Daniel Ricciardo.

After all this, I felt another day’s holiday was in order to recover from all the exhilaration and maybe a dance round the maypole to cool down.
