Proposal For Paid For Services In Hungarian State Hospitals
The Hungarian Hospital Association supports introducing paid-for services in state hospitals, the association’s president said in business daily Napi Gazdaság’s Thursday edition. Demand for services provided in the private health-care market has increased in recent years, György Velkey told the paper. Introducing paid-for care would greatly benefit underfinanced state hospitals, he said.

These institutions would reinvest revenues generated from these services and purchase new equipment, Velkey added. He said the association discussed at its meeting last week a relevant pilot project launched in the Budapest Uzsoki Hospital and supported introducing it in other state hospitals as well.
