Hungarian National Soccer Coach Pinter Sacked
Attila Pintér, the coach of Hungary’s national eleven, has been fired, Sándor Csányi, president of the Hungarian Football Association. His successor, Pál Dárdai, has been appointed to coach the team in three European championship qualifiers to be played this year.

Appointed last December, Pintér managed the national eleven in five matches, with just two wins, a draw and two defeats.

On Sept. 7 Hungary suffered a shocking 2:1 defeat from Northern Ireland in a European qualifier on at home. Dárdai, who had been capped 61 times, is now employed by Hertha BSC.

The three qualifiers will be played in Romania on Oct. 11, on Feröer Islands three days later, and against Finland on home ground on November 14.
