Hungarian Gov’t Hosts Talks On Sunday Shopping
The government has not decided on the Sunday shopping ban, Retail Association president György Vámos told Napi Gazdaság after discussions at the Economy Ministry on Wednesday.

The vast majority of participants invited were against the closure, which they estimate will lead to the loss of 15,000-20,000 jobs in the sector.

Besides Fidesz, the Hungarian chamber of Commerce, as well as Hungarian-owned retailers CBA and Coop, argued that the move would not lead to dismissals.

It makes sense to hold talks on the issue until there is a cabinet decision, Vámos stressed.
