Hungary’s PM Orbán: Growth Requires Stepping Beyond Traditional Dogma
Hungary has proven that in order to stimulate economic growth several traditional economic dogmas must be transcended, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told Serbia’s Tanjug news agency ahead of a China-Central-Europe summit to be held in Belgrade.

In Europe it is generally accepted that within several years Central Europe will become the economic engine of growth in the European Union, Tanjug reported Orbán as saying.

In the past few years Hungary has become the leading country in central and eastern Europe, and besides its adherence to strict budgetary discipline it is now among the states producing the fastest economic growth, he said.

Not only has Hungary emerged from the economic crisis but “we have changed our attitudes and we think of the crisis not as a problem but as an opportunity,” Orbán said, adding that proof of Hungary’s political stability is that it has not only survived the crisis but has actually strengthened during a difficult period.
