See What Happened @ Budapest Jazz Club Birthday Special
The Budapest Jazz Club began celebrating its 7th birthday with three free gigs last Friday. And what a night it was for jazz lovers! On a very cold January night, three different bands with three contrasting styles got the senses going again, with the intensity growing as the evening unfolded.

First up were the young lions of the Krisztián Oláh Trio, featuring the singer János Egri Jr. They were followed by the very exciting and elegant East Gipsy Band, just back from their triumphant tour of the USA. Rounding off the celebrations was the high energy, tight-knit afro-jazz-rock outfit, the Euro-African Playground.

This was my first time at the Budapest Jazz Club and it was a great way to slide back into Budapest nightlife after a hectic festive season. As the birthday celebrations came to a close, we were treated to some birthday cake. So, quite literally, we had our cake and….
