Budapest Bourse Moves To Szabadság Square
The Budapest Stock Exchange has moved from its base on Andrássy Street to the Bank Center building on Szabadság Square, the bourse told MTI. The BSE’s email and postal addresses as well as telephone numbers will remain unchanged.

The bourse started operating in the Lloyd Palace, on the Danube bank, in 1864.

In 1905, it moved to the Bourse Palace building on Szabadság Square, where it remained until Hungary’s government dissolved the stock exchange in 1948.

After the change of system, the bourse re-launched in the Trade Center building in Váci Street. From 1992, it operated in a landmark building off Vörösmarty Square.

In 2007, after the building was purchased by a developer, the bourse moved into the former Herczog Palace on Andrássy Avenue.
