Death Rate In Hungary Outstrips Births In Jan

In January the number of births grew by almost 5% compared to the same month a year before, as against a 13% rise in the number of deaths, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday. The higher death rate is likely to be associated with the influenza epidemic, the KSH said.
There were 7,955 births in the first month of 2015 as against 12,570 deaths. The natural population decline came to 4,615 people, 1,078 more than in the same period a year before.
