Police Raid Quaestor Headquarters In Budapest

The National Bureau of Investigation yesterday raided the Budapest headquarters of brokerage Quaestor and initiated criminal proceedings against an unidentified person on suspicion of large-scale fraud. Chairman and CEO Csaba Tarsoly was in the office during the search and is co-operating with authorities, his lawyer said.
The MNB sent a commissioner to oversee the operations of the Quaestor group and suspended its operations after one of its subsidiaries declared bankruptcy, having issued Ft 150 billion more in bonds than permitted by regulations.
