EUR 160M In EU Support For Hungary’s Hospital Development
The European Commission has approved more than 160 million euros in support for hospital development in Hungary. The EU regional development support from 2007-2013 budget allocations is for Hungarianfunded projects already started or completed, the commission said.

A new hospital complex to be built at a cost of 56 million euros in Nyíregyháza, in north-east Hungary, will receive 44 million euros from the EU.

The 54 million euro expansion of the clinic in Szeged, in southern Hungary, will receive 43 million euros and the modernisation of the hospitals of Pécs and Kaposvár in the south-west will receive 39 million euros and 35 million euros, respectively.

Projects exceeding a value of 50 million euros need to be directly approved by the commission directly.
