Hungarians Stress Social Responsibility In Effort To Host Olympics
The Hungarian Olympic Committee, the Hungarian Paralympic Committee and the Olympic Patrons Body signed a joint declaration with five partner organisations on a “social dialogue for the Olympics” in Budapest.

The declaration was signed by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), the National Association of Businesses and Employers, the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, the Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers and the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants.

In the declaration, the parties stated that Hungary’s efforts to win the right to host the Olympic Games should take social responsibility into consideration.

Plans to host the game should be “formulated only in harmony with the goal of social improvement”, according to the declaration. Hosting the games at an acceptable cost should produce developments and bring other benefits, creating jobs, boosting economic growth and increasing foreign investment, the document says.

The Hungarian Olympic Committee general assembly decided in February to propose to the country and Budapest an assessment of a possible bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games and Paralympics.
