Hungary's Szerencsejáték CEO May Be Fired
CEO Péter Szentpétery of the state gaming company Szerencsejáték might be dismissed on Monday, according to the gambling news website Itt a piros. Szentpétery is on sick leave at the moment, Népszava adds. Szentpétery joined Szerencsejáték in June 2010, after holding high positions with state pawnbroker BÁV, taxi company Fõtaxi and Metal-Art, companies owned by the Lajos Simicska-Zsolt Nyerges group.

He might have had a role in placing billions of forints of advertising in media owned by Simicska, Népszava adds.

Under Szentpétery, Szerencsejáték has doubled its revenues, and increased its profit nearly four fold, so the reason for his dismissal cannot be performance related, Itt a piros adds.
