Telenor, Magyar Telekom Gear Up For Tariff Changes In Hungary
Telenor is giving its clients until the end of June to refuse tariff changes that will take effect on July 1, while Magyar Telekom will inform its subscribers of tariff changes in July and give them a chance to reject them for 15 days, the telcos said. Hungary’s National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) on Friday said it signed contracts with Magyar Telekom and Telenor “ensuring the validation of subscriber rights” when tariff changes take effect on July 1.

The NMHH announced a probe of the two telcos in June to determine whether tariff increases they planned were in compliance with regulations.

The authority prohibited the companies from implementing the tariff rises until the probe wound up.
