Hungary’s Left Promotes Immigrant Interests

Hungary’s leftist parties continue to promote the interests of immigrants rather than those of Hungarians, the ruling Fidesz party said. The Fidesz parliamentary group said that “while Hungary and Europe are being overrun with illegal migrants”, the left was still “clowning around and filing complaints” instead of doing “meaningful and responsible work”.
The ruling party said Hungary’s interest was to facilitate cooperation between the authorities and charity organisations at the border and in efforts to distinguish political refugees from illegal migrants.
Fidesz added that it was also in the interests of Hungarians that construction of the fence is completed as quickly as possible to protect the borders of Hungary and the Schengen area as well as Hungarian people living near the border.
